Yes. Cardboard, clear plastic, polystyrene. I make gaming terrain, although I haven't made much yet.
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Please don't post about US Politics. If you need to do this, try [email protected]
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Wood. So much wood, in so many forms and shapes. The garage is filled with wood. Also bits of drywall panels, duckting material, paint and so on.
I have some boxes saved specifically to make some trackers for VR... But I thought we had a hot glue gun in the apartment and I was wrong so it's just waiting in a corner until I can actually glue them the way I need. lol
I sometimes reuse mineral water/pepsi bottles .
I also save those cardboard pieces from between the wet food for painting on
I'm living in a really old house, which means the floors are uneven, so I keep any little bits of wood I find, like shelves from old cabinets, paint sticks, whatever, to use as shims to keep my furniture level
I have a large box of random cables, probably half of which are totally obsolete. Might need 'em someday.
Boxes. I might need them one day.
Calling it garbage to begin with tells us more about you than it.
Is there another word for "things that most people will toss out because they don't see a use for it" that would convey the question better?
Treasure?
I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty, I've got whozits and whatzits galore. You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty!
Junk.
Ah yeah that would've been better.
