Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November 18, 1985, to December 31, 1995. Commonly cited as "the last great newspaper comic",[2][3][4] Calvin and Hobbes has enjoyed broad and enduring popularity, influence, and academic and philosophical interest… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes

I have this image of Bill Watterson keeping tabs on this community, and when he sees us reacting to decades-old pieces like "ohhhh shit the raccoon story fuck" he feels a swelling of pride. His work is immortal in our memory and inimitable in our estimation, and I hope he knows that.

Thank you, Mr. Watterson.

I still have every single one of the first edition books that were available when I was a kid. I spent my paper route money on them, and I'll never part with them. They were such special books to me back then. I saw so much of myself in Calvin.

Going by the Pearls before Swine story, sounds like he's a hermit who would have no idea 😂. But who knows? 🤷

It’s a tough storyline, especially when I was a kid reading it in the paper.

I remember reading this as a kid, and hoping the raccoon would be okay. Looking at it as an adult, I'm surprised Watterson was able to make a joke at the end. So much story in just four panels.
