… larger in terms of dollars. According to Deadline, Fox has closed the deal on a significant script plus a penalty commitment, and if you’re not familiar with that industry term, it means that even if the pilot for the show doesn’t get produced and aired on TV, the network must pay a huge fee to the producer/writer.

Tbf the original didn't really have any hot girls in bikinis either. Apart from Erika Eleniak, Pam Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, and Nicole Eggert, the rest weren't that hot. Wait...

I disagree with the conclusion we won't see hot girls in bikinis anymore, but I agree this won't work. People don't watch things solely for the sex appeal often anymore. There's far too much easy access to porn for that to be a reason to watch something. The show actually needs to have some content to it to work, which I doubt it will.
