Just downloaded and as a former Infinity for Reddit user it feels like home

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Wow. What a difference it makes to get 'your' interface back.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

It's crazy, the difference! Didn't expect it.

Those of us still waiting on Boost: 🥺

I just spend like 10 minutes copying over all the color codes from my carefully tweaked Infinity theme, lol. Love it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

bruv... you just export a theme, it'll copy the code to your clipboard, and then you can import it with a single click💀

It's amazing, I hope they find a way to implement multi-communities

Also seems to run a lot smoother than jebora on my crappy old phone, so glad I've got my favourite back

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Jerboa isn't very smooth, whatever your device.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Jerboa you treated me well, but I must return home.

Seems like community links are broken in Infinity, the first link gave an error and the second doesn't even show as a link.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

you can open it in an external browser, but yeah, seems like it's broken for now

Goodbye jerboa, I'm sorry...

That's nice! I've tried the app for Reddit and it wasn't really my thing but I'm so glad Lemmy is getting so many different apps!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nice, Infinity was my app of choice for Reddit. Can we get it on Kbin as well?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Kbin uses a different API, we won't be seeing Kbin apps for a while.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ah okay. I'm glad that kbin's mobile website is so neat though.

There's this shell app for kbin: https://github.com/anemomylos/shell4kbin/releases/tag/1.0.1-13

Description about it:

This Android app is a webview shell for the kbin.social site.

Is a dedicated browser for the kbin.social site: once you open the app you will see the kbin.social site as you would see it in any browser. But, if you want, you can inject JS and CSS code to change the appearance and functionality of the site.

I created this application to be able to use the kbin.social site in a browser other than the default browser; I share it in case it might be useful to others.

I am looking forward to when this is installable (and has all important features) – I was missing it a lot!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

it is installable right now... and has almost all the features ported over

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Very glad to see some mature Reddit experiences dropping.

Do I need to use fdroid or compile this myself and side load it?

Never mind I see the apk on the website.

You can also use obtainium, it'll download and install from the GitHub link, just make sure to check the pre-release box since it isn't offically released, saves having to manually update too

very soon ig, but I don't really know. we can currently download the app from the releases page though

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Worthwhile plugging Obtainium what is helpful for pulling prebuilt apks off Git

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

How can i add this release to obtainium? It fails

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

You need to enable "pre release".
