Did you notice that one of my SOTD posts wasn't visible by some people? @[email protected] did! I changed some language settings for the instance, which should clear up any future "hidden" posts.

I believe the problem was that I had enabled a couple of languages for the instance -- "undetermined", and "english". My profile had the same two languages selected. When I made my post, I must have selected "English" as the language, which was allowed per the instances settings. DJ likely didn't have "English" as a selected language for his account, and therefor it wasn't shown.

That's my guess, anyway.

So, the settings are now set to "undetermined" as the only language. When anyone makes a post, there should be no options in the "language" dropdown, and all posts should be visible so long as their profile has the default "undetermined" selected.

It's odd. It seems to be that as long a I have "undetermined" set for me, I should see messages in every language.

Anyway, it now works, so that's good

Edit: Nope, "undetermined" isn't a catch-all for every language, but literally matches only posts where the language is undetermined. Think of "undetermined" as a language, and if you also want to see English/Français/Whatever, you need to allow them too in your profile settings

Thanks for the info!

I'm traveling with my two year old during Austere August and the Days of Weckoning, and I've come up with this contraption to keep the blade safely out of Djunior's reach:

It's a leather cigar box (so moisture can still escape) with a hole drilled through so I can lock it with a standard TSA cable lock. But it got me thinking: are there better ways?

Have you ever had to keep your toddler and straights/shavettes separate while traveling in hotels? How did you solve this issue?

Drill a hole through the razor and use the same lock.

Next, I'll drop through my Wade and Butchers 👍😅

This looks very neat! Where did you get that cigar box?

My technique was rather security by obscurity: make sure to hide it somewhere inconspicuous and in a boring environment.

I got it from an online cigar shop here in Switzerland. The Cuba design was on 70% discount, so the price wasn't ridiculous.

Security by obscurity seemed a bit too insecure while traveling😅

No Cuba fans anymore among cigar-smoking Swiss?

But I like it!

I literally don't know a single cigar-smoking Swiss person, I must travel in the wrong circles :D

Cuba is a quite popular vacation destination, though, that's the closest I can get to giving an answer

Thinking about it, maybe you could get zip ties to work, though with this particular razor, you could probably slide them off to one side or the other.

That would work for the transit, but would be a bit cumbersome during the day-to-day🤔
