I kind of miss DIWHY, always some good nonsense on there.

Combatfootage, NCD, gundeals, and liberalgunowners.
Dundermifflin!!
IdiotsInCars
I miss all my hobby and crafting subreddits lol. Off the top of my head,
Woodworking / Beginners
Sewing / Knitting
Dioramas / Terrain Building
Painting
Survival / Preppers / Camping / OneBag / Travel
Not trying to out myself, but I don't see my Country / Region / City here yet.
Wouldn't mind some health, lifestyle, and research science.
Can we get AskHistorians on here??
I think the biggest problem I have is that the magazines exist but have little to no activity.
I and a few other posted in /m/motorcycles but I don't think there's been any activity since.
Id love to have aviation related magazines. Also metalmemes or memes in general. Computerscience and programming would also be great. The problem is that im not too happy about the tankie infestation of lemmy an thus I try not to interact with it too much...
While I spent the most time on /r/fantasy, I miss /r/vexillologycirclejerk the most by far
The circlejerk subreddits deserve an entire fediverse instance of their own. Not as a bad thing, but it will concentrate the expertise of meme development in a coherent place that encourages it.
new instance just dropped
no but seriously, I'm not sure if I agree with this. I really enjoyed seeing a post on either /r/vexillology or /r/vcj and then its corresponding post on the other one, especially if it was on /r/vcj first and then trying to figure out where tf it came from. And similar idea with /r/mapporncirclejerk and /r/geography. I think it would be a very different place if it were an entire instance dedicated to memes, and they'd lose their own identity to a large extent (not that they're not all invaded by /r/anarchychess already).
Is there no alternative to r/fantasy here? I've been able to find so many books and get many recommendations from there :(
HumansBeingBros
I spent most of my reddit time on video art subreddits.
Like r/stablediffusion r/curcitbending r/mediasynthesis and most of all r/videosynthesis
m/videosyntesis has been made, but is only me and the mod for now. Hopefully we can get people to migrate in time.
Formula 1 and Formuladank
Mountain biking
r/beermoneyuk for me.. it was a good place for me to find some additional sources of online income (really helped me out this year as a student). I've created the magazine @beermoneyuk, just in case (if the mods ever show up I'll gladly give ownership to them), but I'm not sure if enough people will visit it.
r/UnresolvedMysteries. I really liked this subreddit. Now I took a look at the thread about API changes which is stickied there and it just seems a lot of people are asking "can someone explain to me what's going on/who cares about 3rd party apps" (and my favorite one - "it's all power-hungry mods' fault"), so it doesn't seem like the community will migrate from reddit.
I miss reading all the write-ups, not only about true crime but also other mysteries.
I'll also add: LiminalSpace and ididnthaveeggs (for all the insane recipe reviews lol).
We have m/LiminalSpaces here on kbin! Although not much in it due to the young age.
Thank you, I subscribed! Hopefully it will take off :)
~~Btw, I got a notification about your reply, and I can see it on your profile, but I do not see it when viewing the thread. Not sure why.~~ Never mind, all is working now.
I miss r/gardening, r/zero waste, multiple subs about the war in Ukraine and some funny ones like AITA
Legend, thank you. I just realised I can scroll to the bottom of kbin and click all magazines. This help me find some of my Reddit favourites too. Thanks for your help.
I submitted some roses questions to https://kbin.social/m/Plants and https://kbin.social/m/gardening I have gotten a few responses but nothing like I got from Minnesota gardening back on reddit.
Thanks for the links
I just got into it this past February, but I'm really missing /r/wrc and /r/rally.
Also can't forget /r/Simpsonsshitposting
In the meantime, feel free to contribute to /m/Motorsports.
I'd love to see r/Marvel and r/DCcomics move over. Maybe some of the smaller ones I follow like r/dreamcast. But it'll take awhile I suppose.
A handful off the top of my head (not sure if these sub names are case-sensitive in any way or not):
QAnonCasualties
PeopleofWalmart
Engrish
Spokane (the city in WA)
Seattle
Boston
AntifascistsofReddit
Scala
Fsharp
fatlogic
I didn't think to save my subscription list (duh) and I'll be damned if I'm going to log in again to do so. I'm done with Reddit at least until they fire that absolute ass of a CEO and back off on all of his dumbshit money-grubbing schemes. That means 'probably never' and I'm 100% fine with that, fuck them and a hearty hello to the fediverse.
KitchenConfidential
Some of the more niche ones, such as music composition or Euroleague Basketball. I doubt enough people migrate to a actually create a somewhat active community for those.
You have magazines such as m/Musicproduction but currently empty due to the age of the site. I think most niche mags will be like that until we start filling them with content and they get discovered by users.
