I am in need of recommendations for LN reader apps. I tried out QuickNovel and Shosetsu. They both lack some features which I need. Preferrably ones with a way for me to quickly download or just view online through the app itself.

I use LNReader to read fan translations of web novels. If you have ever used Tachiyomi for manga before, then LNReader is basically the same but for text.

Hi, I installed LNReader, but my phone (Oppo) detected it as an infected app. Have you had any warning onyour phone?

I have never had a problem before (Pixel 6a), You are probably getting the popup because you need to install it via downloading and installing the apk file (known as sideloading). Usually, by default, phones won't let you do this as it can be a vector for malware. You need to manually enable it. Your version of Android might have it in a different place than mine, but to enable sideloading on my phone, I had to go to Settings -> Apps -> Special App Acess -> Install Unnown Apps and make sure that Chrome is enabled on that list (files might be needed as well).

Oh thanks, I just looked into it, and it seems pretty much all that I need.

Rather than looking for some kind of all-in-one solution, that is sure to compromise on features, why not just download the novels you want, and then use any reader you want?

Actually for me Lithium or Moon was pretty great. I just wanted to know if there was something with more features. If it comes down to it, I'll start doing what you said once again.

This isn't exactly what you asked, but you can use a program called Calibre to remove any DRM on ebooks you have. That way you can put them on any reader you like. You can also edit their metadata, which can be handy, especially if you're downloading translated web novels that don't have any metadata like series name, volume #, cover art, etc...

I can also recommend that.

For the legal stuff, Calibre with the DRM removal plugin has been great. Because I hate DRM, I mostly bought physical copies, which obviously need space, but Calibre has solved that issue. I can buy digital copies with Kobo so I still support the author, but is cheaper than physical and don't need physical space, and I can remove the DRM and convert to a different file type so I can use the reader app I want. This has been especially great for manga, as Kobo's app sucks for that.

Sure, thanks I guess. Though I don't really download ebooks from sites with DRM.

It's also a great program just for organizing your library

If you use NovelUpdates, Notifications for NovelUpdates is a good app for Android

Are you looking for JP or EN? Shousestu makes me think you want access to Shousetsuka ni Narou.

J-Novel Club has a decent mobile app. If you're looking for pirated material, I'm not sure I have any good info. Sorry.

Pretty much any standard e-reader app will work for LNs. Isn’t like manga where the page order is different and the focus is on the images.
