It’s most likely cache data that doesn’t fall under other categories. You can ignore it. Or fully delete the messages app and redownload if you’re that worried about it.

You can delete the messages app?
Yea you can delete any app by long pressing on it
Edit: I’m wrong you can’t delete messages app!
You cannot remove the messages app. You can press and hold and tap “Remove” but the only option you are given is to remove it from the Home Screen.
Not all apps are removable, some are baked into the OS.
