Netflix is really putting the "boil a frog" theory to the test.

As soon as SAG-AFTRA and the WGA won their strikes I knew this would happen

Ok, I'm pirating their shit anyway.

Most of their stuff isn't even worth pirating. Just sink that ship and find better loot elsewhere.

They have some "Netflix original" anime from time to time, the other stuff is actually not even worth pirating.

Netflix - a Blockbuster waiting to reverse Karma.

Be kind, rewind.

Just had a conversation with my partner on this, she's on the basic package (UK) and not prepared to accept the next price jump (the hike plus the need to upgrade the package).

Plenty of options to find Netflix content elsewhere, her concern is losing the ability to scroll through Netflix and find something she'd otherwise not see.

Any advice for conviniantly seeing what's on Netflix on her phone, without going to Netflix?

Nice, not only will that do the job but it's a better experience than Netflix's own UI.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Netflix stopped letting new subscribers sign up for its Basic plan in Canada last year before rolling out the change to the US and UK.

In a video interview for investors, co-CEO Greg Peters said the ad-supported offering is now at 23 million monthly active users and that Netflix’s priority for it is “scale.” He said that included making it more attractive with upgrades like last year’s changes to the cheapest version that bumped the resolution to 1080p, added multiple streams, and switched on downloads, and how Netflix is “shifting our plans and pricing structure in other places.”

Netflix’s service has added a lot of new features over the years, with 4K streams and its push into gaming, but don’t expect those upgrades to come for free forever.

Earlier today, Netflix made the surprise announcement that it struck a 10-year deal to air the WWE’s Monday Night Raw.

NBCUniversal’s Peacock currently has a library of WWE content on its service, but it doesn’t air Monday Night Raw live.

Netflix has only been wading deeper into live sports over the past several months — even after the streamer said it would stick to “sports-adjacent” streaming.
