It's been a while since I was Catholic, but this just rings a lot of alarms to me:

The owner hired the fake priest to hear confessions during work hours and "get the sins out", including asking them if they had been late for work, stolen money from the restaurant or had "bad intentions" toward their employer.

Do people actually think a genuine priest would ask such specific questions? Do people just trust random "priests" that pop out like this at random? If you ask me, the crazy thing here is the thought of anyone offering a confession in such an obviously shady situation.

"Forgive me father for I have sinner. I am having an affair with the Owners wife and his children are not his."

This would have maybe taught him a lesson to not do it again.
