Among the international partners contributing to Artemis, it seems most likely a European astronaut would get the first slot for a landing with NASA.

I, for one, hope it's a Scottish person.

I think they should kidnap a Sentinelese guy and chloroform him until they land on the moon. Surprise!!!

Would Scott Manley count as Scottish? :)

Aren’t all visitors to the moon international?

Not because easy, but because hard.

They say this every couple of years

This isn't a new program. It's a development of the existing one.

I get that. I'm just saying that, for as long as I can remember, NASA has been making announcements about returning to the moon. Is it somehow more difficult now than it was in '67?

You "get that", but then ask yet another generic question that has literally nothing to do with the announcement... What kind of pathetically slow thought process do you work with?

Yes, yes it IS harder to work internationally than to work within a single well funded entity like old '67 NASA. What a brilliant observation!

Damn, bro. You've got some anger issues. Maybe it's time to take a break from the internet.

clearly joking

Who is "they"?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I can't tell if you're joking. I'm referring to NASA it seems that every year there is announcement about returning to the moon five years from now. I can remember the same announcements being made in '95 when I was a kid.

Has the US already committed to going back to the moon multiple times over now?

Until I see a shuttle ready to launch, I ain't buying it.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago

This isn't a new program (Artemis) but a commitment to a specific aspect of it. A stated goal that is now more defined.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago

Well seeing the shuttle is long retired and was only meant for earth orbit. I wouldn't either.
