Sorry, is that the right thread at the top? It's a news story about an airplane accident.

Strange, here is the link from lemm.ee: https://lemm.ee/post/14476485
Thanks. RE your question, i'm down for discussions but i'm not sure why those threads would need to be pinned or other special treatment. Am I OOTL on lemmy suppressing self posts or sthg?
It's more about people being able to find them. If you look at https://old.reddit.com/r/movies/, they have one pinned thread that links to the current discussion threads.
We cannot do this on Lemmy, as links are instance-dependent.
Creating the threads without pinning them would mean they would get lost quickly. Pinning them all would clutter the community.
Such micromanagement. It's become, dare I say it, your obsession.
I just want the community to be successful, not sure what you mean by that?
I would definitely like to see someone else starting this kind of discussions, but there doesn't seem to be anyone yet.
By what metric is the community NOT successful in your opinion? Your enthusiasm is distorting your expectations. If I was so inclined, I could find dozens of your similar "problems" going back months now, even over at lemmy.film (RIP).
Maybe there's a reason no one else is "starting this kind of discussion"? That is, it's not as important as you seem to think it is.
Just let it happen. Breathe. This is supposed to be fun, not a chore.
BTW, you're doing a great job as is.
It's interesting, because back on lemmy.film we had dedicated movie threads, and they initiated interesting discussions. They still exist on [email protected], and have some success, depending on the movie.
As always, it's a "build it, and they will come", but in this case, we haven't built the place to discuss the movies yet.
BTW, you’re doing a great job as is.
Thanks
I don't mind them being pinned and cluttering up the top for a week or two, but that's just me.
