Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s former opponent in the Michigan Senate primary, Haley Stevens, is appearing with Republican candidate Mike Rogers at a Detroit church after intraparty tensions have boiled over days before the election.

The appearance comes after the congresswoman was uninvited to a joint event Sunday with El-Sayed, who defeated her by a slim margin in the August primary.

Stevens has been critical of El-Sayed’s comments surrounding Israel. Her fiance said last week he was voting for Rogers, claiming El-Sayed had not done enough to address concerns of the Jewish community.

This is just more confirmation that the right candidate won. Losing the primary and then supporting the republican is some scummy shit.

I am a Democrat in Michigan and the first thing i am doing tomorrow morning is calling every goddamn number I can find and insist they kick Haley out of the fucking party.

    She's a rat-fuck traitor.

    State party, good start.

I want to see the same statement from Jeffries. Take away her D label in congress. Take away her caucus vote, her committee seats. You can't allow treachery like this. It would be like a gang allowing undercover cops in their ranks.

While I could come up with well reasoned arguments against Rogers, you really only need one: HE DOESN’T FUCKING LIVE IN MICHIGAN.

He can fuck off back to Florida where he belongs, and Stevens can go with him.

He is a real threat to the establishment. Unlike Mamdani, he was born here (*meaning, he can become president). He's actually a medical doctor, and he tells the truth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmodf-lNGEE

This woman and her husband are evil. They want to subject this country to further fascist descent for a paycheck from their owners. Those same owners are in the epstein files and part of a broader circle of powerful perverts and slavers.

Stevens, Rogers, Trump, Thiel, Musk, Netanyahu, Barak, Wexler...all joined together. This is who we're dealing with.

When I read her campaign site, it was just a bunch of generic feel good happy bullshit without any specific stances or commitments. That's when I knew I was voting for El-Sayed in the primary. Glad I was able to see through her worthless bullshit. Go fuck yourself sideways, Hailey. I voted today and couldn't be happier to cast mine for El-Sayed.

It doesn't help that Democrat leaders of the party have refused to endorse him

More than appearing with, she's now given a full on Mike Rogers endorsement.

Remember the day before the NYC mayoral election when Trump endorsed Andrew Como who was running as a spoiler candidate against Mamdani? I see similaries.

Good job Michigan for not letting Haley Stevens win the primary. We cannot afford another John Fetterman in the Senate.

This is the central philosophy of "centrism". Whenever you vote for a centrist, this is who you are voting for.

I have to say, as a very selfish European looking for entertainment (and outright ignoring the larger geopolitical effects), US politics keep not disappointing. The pettiness and self-sabotage is just... brilliant.

(From the outside. I'm very aware that it fucking sucks from the inside.)

    Can't tell if sarcasm...

Edit: WHY do you COMMENT like THIS? I was trying to understand if you were being sarcastic or not and your comment history is full of EMPHASIS via CAPS

    It's a novelty account, so it's sarcasm.

I guess this is meant to cast Stevens as a generic avatar of "centrist"-death-mask-wearing conservatives who demand unconditional support from progressives if they win but won't give it back if they lose?

But I don't know if Stevens said or demanded that, so it's a bit confusing, and could also be read to attack the phrase "vote blue no matter who." Which is a turnoff since it mimics right-wing sarcastic comments meant to mock democratic voters who vote for "least evil" dem candidates over fascist right candidates - i.e., intended left turnout suppression. So seems like the novelty bit is getting in the way of actual, you know, communication.

Those were just some of my hilarious, important thoughts on the inherently funny topic of sober, lengthy deconstruction of comedy. (That was sarcasm, if such a thing can possibly work without all caps.) (That was also sarcasm. /s) (Despite the "/s," that last one wasn't sarcasm.) (Feeling good about this one.)

Yeah, I had to ask, because Stevens isn't the candidate you're voting for... So vote blue no matter who ™️/s doesn't quite hit because she got primary'd.

Which is WHY PEOPLE NEED TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARIES

Whoops, too many caps this time

    Wait, no, sorry.

No NO, the CAPS made me understand your SARCASM!

    Oh, that's better.

But I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. And neither were you! DAMN IT.

She is a great real time example of why the Who part of voting Blue Matters. I'll won't support AIPAC shills like her. Her using Black voters as a prop for the endorsement was nasty work.

It's not turmoil when white people act like white people. I keep telling everyone we're not to be trusted. Anyone white who uses church for political reasons is a fascist waiting to gain power.
