Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s former opponent in the Michigan Senate primary, Haley Stevens, is appearing with Republican candidate Mike Rogers at a Detroit church after intraparty tensions have boiled over days before the election.

The appearance comes after the congresswoman was uninvited to a joint event Sunday with El-Sayed, who defeated her by a slim margin in the August primary.

Stevens has been critical of El-Sayed’s comments surrounding Israel. Her fiance said last week he was voting for Rogers, claiming El-Sayed had not done enough to address concerns of the Jewish community.

Edit: WHY do you COMMENT like THIS? I was trying to understand if you were being sarcastic or not and your comment history is full of EMPHASIS via CAPS

    It's a novelty account, so it's sarcasm.

I guess this is meant to cast Stevens as a generic avatar of "centrist"-death-mask-wearing conservatives who demand unconditional support from progressives if they win but won't give it back if they lose?

But I don't know if Stevens said or demanded that, so it's a bit confusing, and could also be read to attack the phrase "vote blue no matter who." Which is a turnoff since it mimics right-wing sarcastic comments meant to mock democratic voters who vote for "least evil" dem candidates over fascist right candidates - i.e., intended left turnout suppression. So seems like the novelty bit is getting in the way of actual, you know, communication.

Those were just some of my hilarious, important thoughts on the inherently funny topic of sober, lengthy deconstruction of comedy. (That was sarcasm, if such a thing can possibly work without all caps.) (That was also sarcasm. /s) (Despite the "/s," that last one wasn't sarcasm.) (Feeling good about this one.)

Yeah, I had to ask, because Stevens isn't the candidate you're voting for... So vote blue no matter who ™️/s doesn't quite hit because she got primary'd.

Which is WHY PEOPLE NEED TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARIES

Whoops, too many caps this time

No no, the caps made me understand your sarcasm!

    Wait, no, sorry.

No NO, the CAPS made me understand your SARCASM!

    Oh, that's better.

But I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. And neither were you! DAMN IT.
