Linked is a LA times article about it. All this information has already been leaked and disseminated to media channels. This post is just summarizing some of it.

Earlier this week the National Political Committee (NPC) of DSA voted to take steps to rescind the endorsement of Nithya Raman, overriding DSA-LA, due to her weakness on BDS. Her consistent Zionist streak is in violation of R22, a resolution passed at the last national convention mandating candidates be actually anti-Zionist.

Raman has shown herself to be a cynical opportunist, angling to use the DSA as a launch pad into the democratic machine. She's been shifting more rightward overtime, and even a few days ago said she was both a DemSoc and a capitalist at the same time. This apparently didn't bother the local leadership of DSA-LA, but National, by one vote, finally took action.

By their ruling, has three days to reverse her positions and if she wants to keep the endorsement, which she won't lol. If she doesn't do it by January, Raman will be expelled from DSA entirely.

This has predictably set all manner of DSA rightists and liberals ablaze with fury. Many of them are curiously centered around LA and New York City lol. The DSA is finally taking baby steps towards being a real party, and that's butting into the political milieu of the US, which is allergic to actual, real, party politics.

It'd be better if just took definitive action on it, but it's a move in the right direction.

As we were getting ready to leave the 2025 convention, I struck up a conversation with an LA comrade. He told me, "we are preparing a Mayoral campaign for LA, like Mamdani" and I was really excited! Little did I know what an absolute controversy this would end up becoming.

It might end up being a good thing though, DSA has never been able to exert any control over electeds, maybe these debates/fights will lead to stronger unity and elected discipline.

Reminder the US is not democratic so appealing to the masses only matters in so far as keeping up a tissue thin illusion of choice that can be discarded after the election. Appealing to zionists and serving them is far more important if you want to be a politician. It's the rational, heartless, but calculated choice to serve zionists if you're a US politician. They're a massively powerful institution and they can wield a lot of weapons against you and give you a lot of money and support if you serve them.

The hearts of the people are against the zionist entity but the hearts of the people are also for universal healthcare and a lot of other things the bourgeoisie are never going to give them. The zionist entity and its fate are tied to the fate of the US and these people accept that.
