OS: Debian 13.7. I use redlib, a reddit frontend, to read content on reddit but since last week I can only load communities, not the posts themselves. Example: I can load https://redlib.catsarch.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/new, but I cannot load any of the posts shown there. As output on the browser I get:

Failed to parse page JSON data: expected value at line 1 column 1 | /r/texts%2Fcomments/1xeaxvt/first_screenshot_is_my_dad_next_two_are_my_mom_i/.json?&sort=confidence&raw_json=1

Is reddit tinkering again with the code to force everyone that wants to access content to sign up with them?

Any workaround so far?

Look in the github issue comments and you'll find some guy mention their fork. Name is Polk something. I switched to that and it's been working as of today.

Not sure if this helps, but under my instance info, I have:

    There are two problems:

    1. the reddit frontend (redlib) you're using is getting rate-limited by reddit. the page which it is trying and failing to parse as JSON contains HTML saying "Reddit rate limit exceeded. Try refreshing in a few seconds.Rate limit will reset in: 489". So, it might work sometimes eventually but probably not for long. You should find another (less popular) instance to use instead.
    2. the redlib backend is sending this error as HTML even though the url says raw_json=1, which is why you can't see the actual error.
