Anyone else having problems with PIP on Wayland? PIP windows simply refuse to stay on top for me (Pop!_OS 24.04)

I dunno if it was just me, but I've never been able to get the picture-in-picture windows fo always be on top.

you know what... I just tried it in Kubuntu 26.04 and it worked fine? lol so idk what this article is about

So I dug up the merge request and it seems to be about this unmerged Wayland protocol. I've only skimmed all this, but from what I can tell the difference is this protocol allows windows to declare themselves always on top, so you won't need things like this in future.
