i do office work for a small industrial company and the boss, for all his flaws, foots 100% of the health insurance costs for the workers. however, we found out that our existing provider is cutting us so we're back on the market instead of just eating a rate increase on renewal.

the insurance guy on our zoom call today used a gaddammed ai, live, on his screen, that we could all see, and asked it to find a plan that matches what we provide now. and he was ready to just go with that as the offer. even though it cut our workers' benefits across the board and nearly doubled our current rates!

anyway, i told him absolutely the fuck not and, after browsing through the company's website, picked out a few plans that match what our workers use currently and for over $50k less than what the ai selected. it really scares me, though, how likely it is that this absolute braindead horseshit is getting rubber stamped across the country because the insurance guy was taken aback that we'd disagree with the choice from his make-believe "coworker."

Was the insurance guy with your company or the insurance company? Pretty ballsy scam if that was a sales rep.
