to not make 50 posts about descent into democratic do-nothing-earn-lots-of-money grift: new york crimes is defending obamdani now:

This marks the first time Tisch has publicly addressed the mounting calls for ouster. She also says: "There’s a lot of talk these days that the mayor’s friends don’t like me. That is simply not true. President Trump and I get along great.”

When you think you can fix a system “from the inside” you must be aware that there are people like you who are your equivalent who are working within the system to keep it broken.

Like you aren’t just up against the neutral parties. There’s assholes out there hard at work making this shit as brutal as they can to wring another buck out of the misery machine. They will oppose you fixing it.

Mamdani doesn't actually care about fixing any system. He cares about his own career and what forwards it. That's it.

Right, but the betrayed first timers need to see this moment as the wake-up call that it is, and part of that awakening has revealed the limits of the idea of a Mamdani. Here’s hoping they realize the rot is systemic.

    Obamdani

This name would have given my MAGA uncle a heart attack if he hadn’t already died of one

"Corralling its insurgents" is a weird way to say "finding the spine to oppose an ongoing genocide"

It reveals the NYT attitude toward governance: The responsibility of politicians is to corral and defuse/diffuse those they claim to represent, not actually represent them.

I guess the implication is that if you cant corral them, just stop representing them. bold_strategy.mov

I love participating in the social consensus that some lives are disposable for vague, unelaborated reasons! spongebob-i-fucking-love

would it be a better, if the reason was maintaining large import/export disparities for the benefit of consumers, maintaining control of oil profits and suez canal?

I'm disappointed in you hexbear that you didn't come up with this clapback before Tisch.
