This marks the first time Tisch has publicly addressed the mounting calls for ouster. She also says: "There’s a lot of talk these days that the mayor’s friends don’t like me. That is simply not true. President Trump and I get along great.”

When you think you can fix a system “from the inside” you must be aware that there are people like you who are your equivalent who are working within the system to keep it broken.

Like you aren’t just up against the neutral parties. There’s assholes out there hard at work making this shit as brutal as they can to wring another buck out of the misery machine. They will oppose you fixing it.

Mamdani doesn't actually care about fixing any system. He cares about his own career and what forwards it. That's it.

Right, but the betrayed first timers need to see this moment as the wake-up call that it is, and part of that awakening has revealed the limits of the idea of a Mamdani. Here’s hoping they realize the rot is systemic.

Unfortunately it isn't many. The problem with the Mamdanis of the world is that they do not do education and their betrayals are of the marginalized. Their impact is to moderate and co-opt and undermine the left, not forward it. The idea that Mamdani should be criticized and rejected for being a cynical backstabber is completely at odds with the wider media narrative and his successful PR machine, the vast majority of people will know him as the smiley guy who does good things as a mayor. Likely many will choose Mamdani over basic principles and correct lines when they know basically nothing about either.

Our work is, as always, basically independent of what liberals and their opportunist loser promoters do. At most we can capitalize on rupture to do our own education events because they not only aren't inviting us (socialists, anarchists, etc - i.e. the left) to their events and work, they are picking fights and punching left as always and pretending that this is smart rather than reactionary.
