The genderslop bio-essentialist wars that has been firing up across the world are dangerously taken unserious by even the supposed allies.

It is scary seeing all the once liberal classmates pipeline themselves into raging transphobes via „feminist/women concerned“ tiktoks and tweets.

Is there like, some problem leaving women alone with men? Hmm

im trans but my docs all still have me as AGAB and was hospitalised in a mens ward last year, i honestly didnt notice cause i was calling the nurse for more endone every 4 hours on the dot

From what I've seen, most trans people have been treated like this for years already, they're just making it official now and forcing the few "good" nurses, that did treat us better, to also join in on the abuse.

I remember this case that happened 5 years ago, where a trans woman died from this shit:

On December the 11th, 2021 the Twitter account ‘Sex Not Gender Nurses and Midwives’ (@sexnotgenderNM) tweeted this thread:

We’ve had an upsetting story shared to our website, and we’d like to share it. This is why we need this conversation. Whilst we don’t agree that always placing Trans people in bays to their aligned gender is ideal (which we will discuss), this is an argument against side rooms.

Transgender lady had cardiac arrest and does because she was placed in a side room instead of a women’s open bay. Staff did not witness her deterioration because of her being placed in a side room.

When staff did notice the signs of ore cardiac arrest, it was later stages and it was difficult to get the cardiac arrest trolley into the side room. Lesson learnt was that she should first and foremost HAVE BEEN PLACED IN AN OPEN WOMENS BAY where her deterioration would have been recognised and earlier interventions could have saved her life.

She posed absolutely no threat to anyone, she presented and identified as a woman but staff put her in side room simply because they knew she was transgender and didn’t know what else to do. She died because of ignorance and thoughtlessness.

Everyone needs us to talk about this, and in a way that accusations of bigotry aren’t fired around. People’s lives and well-being depends on it. Thank you, to the person that submitted. And a reminder- we started this account because of poor outcomes for Trans people, too.

Back then even the TERFs still had to pretend that us dying was actually a bad thing (although without naming the actual cause) and that we should feel sorry for the victims, but now it's just straight-up full dehumanization. Our lives are worth less than cis people's imagined fears. Fucking disgusting

Ofc transphobia in the medical system has always been a problem, it's hands-down the most transphobic part of society from my own experience and almost any trans person i know has at some point experienced open, outspoken transphobia by medical staff. Still, i've also seen medical staff that tried their best to be better, a lot of trans orgs will keep lists of trans inclusive places in the medical system for reference, it's common for trans people to share recommendations and a law like this openly works against such measures.

    Trans women deserve better.

Cis people showing once more that they do not remotely understand what "biological sex" means.

Edit: feddit.uk does seem to be fairly reasonable about it so far, and moreso than the linked article which uses the nonsencical, inappropriate and misleading "biological sex" wording.

The comments on feddit.uk are surprisingly normal actually https://feddit.uk/post/56951198

The incoherent rant from the lemmy.ca user is in response to someone posting an image of those three trans men who got arrested on purpose for getting changed in the women's changing room at a waterpark following their state ruling that changing rooms must be used on the basis of assigned sex rather than gender. I suspect that the lemmy.ca user doesn't know this context.

Referring to "biological sex" in the context of trans women is almost exclusively used to misgender us and deny not only our everyday lived reality, which is clearly that we are treated with all the contempt and objectification patriarchal society has for all women and then some, but it also betrays a superficial, actively anti-scientific understanding of what constitutes biological sex in the first place.

Biological sex isn't a discreet, unified characteristic, it's a composite of different biological features that then get conveniently subsumed under one label.

Nowadays you will frequently hear that biological sex equals chromosomes, but i do not know a single cis person who actually knows their karyotype - in fact, a not insignificant number of them have a karyotype that does not fit what you'd expect for their phenotype (see Klinefelter, Chapelle and other variations of chromosomal sex). And when you look at how transphobes want to police access to single sex spaces in a way that specifically excludes trans women, chromosomes are only ever used as a bad faith argument and never a foundation for exclusion in practice.

What transphobes instead obsess over are genitals. Now, if you have functioning gender affirming care (which obviously does not apply to any place on earth, particularly not the UK), a majority of trans women would in fact have a vagina. In my social circle, which consits almost entirely of trans women, we're slowly reaching the point where a majority of trans women do, in fact have a vagina that is not distinguishable from that of a cis woman by any means. I won't even get into the point that a woman's penis is functionally not the same as a man's for a variety of reasons, it will likely break your brain if i do. But when you press transphobes on this issue, when you ask them if they actually want genital inspections and if they would then sperate between people with vaginas and people with penises (what to do about people with both is a question that never occurs to them, even though such people do exist), they quickly reveal that they do not mean that, either. And they do not mean secondary sexual characteristics like facial hair, breasts, tone of voice etc., all of which are mutable and not equally pronounced among all men or all women.

No, what transphobes actually mean by biological sex is socially enforced sex. It's always nothing but that. I could go on, this issue is a lot more complex and would require that i throw a lot more commonly held assumptions about biological sex out of the window, but let's leave it at the fact that these discussions and these laws and these means of exterminating us are never actually about biology, as our biology is usually a core part of what we wish to, and usually do, change during our transition.

Labour has to be worse than the DNC. Their opposition are toddler Republicans and they compete against themselves. I feel like libassery is downstream from them and the Dems take their cues from them.
