Seeing europe in this orientation really threw me for a moment.
You're very fortunate to have traveled that "small" rectangle.
Come to Brazil!
Luckily you can draw the rectangle as big as you want and still say "I've never been outside of this rectangle"
That's ok. It doesn't matter.
"you don't need to look over the fence to know it's a dog barking"
Yeah, information is as easy to get as ever. Travel is for bragging, mostly.
This is the take of someone who really needs to see more of the world
By jet? Or by internet?
Plane train or automobile, Volkswalken or Shoebaru, really anything besides blind trust in what filters through your screen. Only thing you can see online is the internet
You are aware that I am reading your thoughts about tourism on my screen, right? Could you show me some of your travel photos so I don't take the same?
I know someone who's never been outside of south England
I'd make a math joke about how technically you've only been to an infinitely small subset of that rectangle because your movement is 1D on a 2D plane but I don't know enough math to make it funny.
Meanwhile, people like me are practically banned from entering that rectangle.
I'd suggest traveling to Asian countries, because they are cheap and offer completely different experiences.
Travel is enlightening. When you unlock more if the map, you'll find out the orientation is different, too!
Cyprus, Helsinki and Tenerife via RyanAir would be most cost effective to make it quite large and you stay within Schengen which is nice.
Where's banana for scale?
Its really all relative. The Earth is orbiting around the Sun at about 30km per sec. Furthermore, the Solar System is rotating around the Milkyway at about 800000 km per hour. Not to mention that the whole thing is speeding toward the Andromeda Galaxy too. In short, you have never stepped in the same place twice unless you consider the possibility that we are living in a massive time loop paradox.
Enjoy your future vacation.
If you plan on travelling do it sooner rather than later, while it is still possible to travel. By this time next year there may be global fuel shortages.
You could also try to travel during period of air company strike. It's a gamble, but it could pay off.
My wife and sons where in south asia in april. And they should have returned to EU through a flight with Lufthansa. There was a strike that delayed there return by 4 days. I agree this was a shitty and stressful situation to manage.
After their return, I filled a form to ask for a refund at least for the hotel room. I didn't expect anything. Well they refund me more than the full price of the flights go and return.
Ryanair do flights to Morocco these days for what it's worth. I was in Casablanca years back and wasn't a big fan but they do other cities in Morocco too which I'm looking at myself as I have a voucher.
I've been to Washington D.C., Gettisburgh, Pittsburgh, Myrtle Beach, Indianapolis, and Detroit once each, mostly in my childhood. Other than that, I have never left Northern and Central Ohio, Lake Erie, and West Virginia in my life
