Honestly, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to buy some weapons in exchange for lowering terriffs. Getting rid of some dollars and integrating the american economy into China's (with China having the power in the relationship) might be worth the price for the american junk.

Reverse engineering the kill switch alone should be pretty valuable. Imagine being able to spoof that and ground the planes of all the various vassals of empire (if not the US ones themselves)
