I seed to 10:1 ratio or 1 calendar month... whatever arrives first

For special files (anything harder to find), I let it go the month regardless of ratio

Whenever I see a file with a single seeder: "Thank you for your service, your solitary watch is over 🫡"

I used to do that, then saw the light. Almost nothing gets unseeded now.

People stop seeding? I kid, but seriously my torrents have never stopped seeding unless the original item was deleted, even past new machine builds. Some have being going for years at this point.

I just use a raspberry pi, leave them all going and set the upload to some manageable speed that won't fuck up my cap. Then just tailscale in whenever I need to add something and I'm not home

I dont torrent any more, but i never paid attention to the ratio or anything. I just left stuff seeding for about 2 weeks before stopping it.
