It's nonsense.
I mean, it's not nonsense, it's just that "I'm attracted to people who think the way I like" is actually pretty common.

I'm fairly certain there's people out there who get horny watching someone being smart just because everything's a fetish to someone out there but I'm also fairly certain near 100% of people who'd describe themselves as being sapiosexual just have some sort of authority or money fetish
I mean I think it's a thing. So many people have so many different ways to describe their sexuality I don't think it's useful to gatekeep them, it's better to just accept all labels by default and only narrow them down if you have a specific reason for doing so.
The ableism instinct I also get, but think that applying it in such a personalized way is unhelpful. Imagine calling gay men misogynist for not being attracted to women. Individualized application of discriminatory terms like that is a form of liberalism.
Dude at my job was 100% serious and said there should be a term for men who want to date their girlfriends for more than just their appearance
It was in relation to her wanting to get a breast reduction but was afraid hed find her less attractive and he was really bragging to us about it
How am I supposed to cum if my partner doesn't yell the quadratic formula at me?
It's called having a type. Having a type isn't necessarily a sexuality, it's just the collection of things that attract you in a person, and sometimes all the people you're attracted to have a thing in common.
I agree with having a type. To rescue a kernel of a concept, I do think getting excited about a hobby or special interest is attractive to others. My exhibit A are the TikTok memes of people getting smitten when their partners excitedly yap. I can see why people call it being Sapio because (afaik) there isn't a name for this idea yet.
This is literally what my partner says. She loves it when I gush about things I'm really interested and love, and I love it when she does. Idk, there's something really attractive about peeople being earnest and competent.
And :this: is Exhibit B lmao!
It's when you're a redditor and want to date another redditor.
No, it just means "I am attracted to conventionally attractive women who wear glasses".
No, that's just having a thing for people in glasses. Sapiosexuality is having a thing for people in glasses and being incredibly pretentious and self-satisfied about it.
The Ready Player One guy is a sapiosexual
