A tweet posted on the day of Kirk's execution:
"They just created a million Charlie Kirks."

An image under the tweet with a grid of AI generated Kirks and the caption:
"In the end he was right.

People did create a million Charlie Kirks πŸ₯Ί"

Yea. He's a giant piece of shit all around, to such an extent that it destroyed his family. He just had to hate on trans people too much to take care of his loved ones, it was existential to him.

It really is a cautionary tale like something out of folklore. Hate will turn you into a fuckin gremlin and nobody will want to be around you except those who are already gremlinned and gremlins-to-be.

Linehan and JK Rowling are both interesting cases to me, in that they both created beloved pieces of media (in Linehan's case, Father Ted and The IT Crowd) and they both could have quite easily just sat back and had a chill life, working on whatever they like knowing their legacy was secure, and they both decided to just completely fuck the whole thing up by being hateful to trans people for no particular reason. Rowling probably less so because she still gets that Harry Potter money no matter what, but Linehan pretty much got himself blacklisted from every sensible area of the industry, destroyed his marriage and now just seems to be endlessly bitter about everything.

I think we're going to find out when the HBO show gets cancelled before finishing the books exactly how much cache Harry Potter still has as a series. Nostalgic Millenials (minus most of the LGBT ones) can only carry a series so far and it's not like the Fantastic Beasts films created a new generation of Potterheads.

I like your optimism and wish I could share it. I guess the last Fantastic Beasts flopped pretty bad

The only way I see them completing is the Warner Discovery executives feeding it money purely for ideological reasons. Zaslav is a huge cheap ass, so there's a viable chance it gets canned after a season or two.

But hasn't David Zazlav specifically stated multiple times that he wants to prioritize and boost conservative content to make an ideologically "balanced" media empire that focuses on conservatives and the right wing of the Democratic party equally?
