Reminds me of when my friend had to go in for a mandatory interview, because government, for a raise that no one was going to get because the budget got cut, because government, so she went in and offered to do an intepretive dance about her workflow.

They were enticed but ultimately refused because it would have been an HR disaster to make her dance for a raise.

I was a teenager/college kid in the '80s. I would occasionally go dancing with friends but I never enjoyed it because I thought I was bad at it. Turns out everybody was a terrible fucking dancer then. Go look at any video of kids dancing from that decade and you'll see what I mean. I've never seen a more definitive example of '80s dancing than this video. I wish I had known had bad everybody was because I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

Making fun of someone's dancing is like making fun of someone's laugh. It's a really shit move to make someone feel uncomfortable and conscious when they're just trying to relax and enjoy.

I always sucked big time at dancing. Some people pushed me to start and I did. It was even kind of fun. Then a couple of different people made fun of it ("hope your dancing at this upcoming friend's wedding is better than that terrible dancing last time"). Well fuck this if there's going to be judgement and if it's not just dumb fun. Camera phones have made it much much worse. It gets immortalised and laughed at later. Now wild horses can't drag me to a dance floor.
