It's like they're going out of their way to make me not care about their game

I genuinely forgot that consoles exist for a moment there.

I thought “but why wouldn't you just be able to uncap the framerate and play at whatever your hardware can manage”?

Same planet, different worlds. Too bad our world won't get GTA 6 for a long time.

I am on PC too, but got a XBOX Series S for free years ago. Still not really using the console, but played a bit around with games that do not work on Linux. I'm really thinking about playing it on console... but would most likely buy the game again on PC after release, just like what Rockstar wants me to do. I could wait.... but its tempting.

I bought an xbox360 for gta5. I bought a PS4 for RDR2. Both still have the discs in them because that's all they were used for.

I'm sure as hell not paying premium for a console for this. I guess I'll just watch someone who doesn't talk too much stream it for now.

    Nah. 60fps will be a $20 upgrade.

PS5 is like what, 6 years old by now?

It's still strong hardware, dont let anyone fool you. Our computing power in our homes is insane, games are just truly made like shit (often due to crunch and being rushed).

That should be hitting 60 or more no problem and the latest PCs should be well over 120. Natively, no framegen or upscale bs.

Did anyone expect a 60 fps with this visual quality and dense and complex world simulation as GTA 6? We talk about the base PS5 here.

Fuck off, modern video game consoles are powerful computers, if they have shit performance like this, the developer cut corners, hard. Don't let Rockstar lie to you.

  • 30fps is a fucking joke in this day and age

Woof! I'm sure they won't also be charging $90 for it right... Right?

It's expected, given that the base PS5 was released six years ago.

But did they use a PS5 dev kit to develop this? I'd expect a game with this level of fidelity to be developed on something more powerful, like a PC, to unlock its full graphical potential. But at the same time, we're not getting a PC release on day one. I suspect they just have a deal with Sony 😞

Perfectly understandable, considering how it looks.

If that’s the kind of guesses you make you might be Tim Pool.

Regardless of whether you or I will buy this game on launch, a fuckload of people will.
