God damn, this was an unsettling movie. Really enjoyed it.

except, if she does so right when you catch on fire.
I was blown away by this womans performance.
One context, please.
Was i the only one who thought the movie was gonna end by both of them getting trapped and then they would remain eternally tortured souls trapped inside the bodies controlled by some stupid wish supernatural thingy.
I was getting “Chat GPT falling in love with Claude” vibes in this moment.
I like the way it ended, especially when viewing it as a fable about controlling behaviour and "nice guys" since he gets just up and leave (in a way) leaving her behind to deal with the aftermath and the trauma for the rest of her life.
I like that the movie criticised the niceguy type. Or rather the whole dating scene. The whole thing started cause his "friend" didnt tell him they were casually fucking and then while the wish wasnt something he couldve expected to work, he then repeatedly fell back into a horrible relationship with her and even while knowing kinda soft-raped her. He also dragged the goth girl through a bunch of shit and caused her(absolutely fucking horrible but narratively beautiful) death. He then did kinda save the main girl but left her with all the trauma and shit as you said. Still, id say the highlight of the movie is easily the goth girl getting murdered. I never want to get close to that scene ever again cause its just so narratively, emotionally and also visually disgusting. Its the only time that i hated a jumpscare not because its unneccesary but because i got disgusted from it. Color me impressed by obsession.
