Pure tofu is exactly like bland, unsalted, unflavored white chicken meat without the skin: almost pure protein. That's why everything tastes like chicken. That's how protein tastes.

Except the texture of (fresh) tofu is much better. It melts on your tongue. Plus no antibiotics, or blood vessels or other gross stuff in it.

you're supposed to season tofu, that's why it's so versatile. Are white people eating tofu plain and that's why it has a bad rep about being "plain" in flavor? Do people cook meat without seasoning?

This is a bouge-pilled take but spending a premium for the fake meat burgers is worth it IMO. Or even just bean burgers, they've gotten cheaper over the years...
