My previous dog loved to chase our cat. He'd be lying on the couch, and` she would walk up to him and start poking him with her snout to try to get him to run. He would either stay put or slowly slink away.
My first dog would make this happy grunting noise when she saw someone she knew.
My dog sometimes makes some adorable little yipping/whooping noises in her sleep.
She's also figured out that if she paws at my wife's lap when she's at her desk she can spin her around to force her to give her attention.
And when she wants to play she'll throw a ball at you. Or when she wants to play by herself she sometimes throws things down the stairs so she can chase after them.
She's got a weird mischievous streak, she sometimes steals random objects off the counter, doesn't chew or try to eat them, just kind of carries them to a random place around the house. Came home one day to a martini glass sitting on our bed, kind of impressive since her breed (malinois) isn't exactly known for having a soft mouth.
If you're napping on the couch, sometimes she'll come over and nibble on your nose gently if she wants attention.
Back in my teenage years we had a cat and a dog, they weren't best friends but they got along just okay. Then my father's new girlfriend (later wife) started visiting with her 3 dogs, and the 3 would chase the cat around the house, and our old dog would chase the 3 to try help the cat
The good: My guinea pigs do cute little hops and skips and zooms when they're excited.
The bad: if I even quietly open a bag of chips in my room they will think they're missing out on food and scream as loud as they can. Which isnt very loud but it makes me feel bad and so I go downstairs to get them some fresh veggies or a snack of some kind.
Tucker is our 12ish year old Tabby. He gets in the bed at night and snuggles up with his back against my chest, and uses his paws to grab my arm and pull it in against his belly like his own little body-pillow. His purring always puts me right to sleep.
My cat will go under the blankets in bed when it's cold out. He figured this out after many years of living here. Some nights it still takes him a while to figure it out. He'll jump on the bed. I'll lift the blankets. He'll peer under there like he's never seen this scenario before in his life. After several cautious minutes he'll usually settle down. If I try to speed up the process by putting the blankets on him, he'll run out of the room
One of my cat will sometime sit on my belly and bury his head into my thigh and stay there for a few minutes.
His mom will lie on her belly and allow me to give belly scritches, and then she would slap my hand w/o claw and i would play slap with her
My sister's cat will do a little squeak everytime when i pick her up. Like every time, so i will just pick her up, put her down, and then pick her up again, she will squeak every time, it's so funny.
I would touch the tip of my finger to my buddy's nose and say, "Beep." He would give me a look. I would do it again and he would do a little lip snarl. Do it again and it would get bigger. Eventually he would "snap" at my finger. He wasn't doing it to hurt, I barely felt it, was just his little way of saying, "I got ya."
He would also bark at women when they would sneeze.
He would also play with a rock in the kiddie pool.
My cat pretends like he doesn't like to get picked up or held. I know he's pretending because I caught him trying to avoid being picked up, but practically jumped into me when I decided to listen to him and stop picking him up
My AhBeauDoggy had a pikachu that he found and brought home one day(he fucking stole it I know it). He loved that thing. If you squeezed it it said pika-chu. The only stuffed animal/toy that wasn't destroyed in seconds. Had that thing for like two years before the voice stopped. Still loved the shit out of it so I would do the pika-chu for it. Had it years after his passing. Probably still have it squirrelled away somewhere.
This little guy (named Mop) figured out that if I pick him up and face him looking away, I will walk toward whatever direction he looks. He uses it to investigate tall stuff that he normally can't reach. I call it mecha-piloting.
My cat Noodle has a petting spot - one very specific area of the living room floor where she allows pets to happen. When we’re playing and she senses that pets are imminent, she will dart over to the petting spot and flop over on her side. Petting may now commence.
Also, she has developed the habit of jumping on top of me in the middle of the night and licking my nose. I haven’t decided if she’s bored and wants attention or if she’s checking to see if I’m dead so she can start eating me.
My chihuahua gets jealous when anyone picks up and pets my other chihuahua to the point that I’m forced to pick him up and cuddle with him to “show them.”
I've accidentally trained my boy cat to expect cuddles while I heat something in the microwave. Since I'm waiting, I often pick him up and stroke his head. Now I can expect to find a cat weaving around my feet and making demands when he hears me press the door release button.
my golden does the between the legs dance thing that people put on youtube. I think she thinks shes a cat. hates rain and water (to be clear the breed is bread for water). she does some other cat like things but I can't recall them but I know them when I see them.
