Two posts about becoming a house wife in a row. The children yearn for the kitchen

Hey, I already am a housewife! While my bf is at work, I clean this place up, take care of the dirty laundry and stuff. I keep this place nice! 😆 (even tho we're not yet married, does the term housewife still apply?)
    I wish I was still a child tho...being an adult sucks 😭😭😭

    Omg, I've been tagged 😭
    I feel blessed 🩷

No idea how tags work on Lemmy, but I'm guessing only you see the tags you make? They're not community-wide like Reddit flairs? It's a shame. This is a really cute one too
    Thank youuu 💜

yeah they're just a little note you can add to a user to help remember who's who, once you've got a few of them it can be quite fun to see familiar faces showing up in the most random places all over lemmy :3
they're purely a client-side feature and the official lemmy ui doesn't support them - personally i use Summit for Lemmy when browsing on mobile but i'm pretty sure most of the other popular mobile apps support tags as well

No worries! I always take questions lol

Prog is short for progesterone, a drug that is useful in hormone therapy ❤️

Ok, thank you! so as an afab I'm familiar with progesterone, is there a reason it gets boofed? (Anal insertion, as it sounds like from the post, or is this a shot to the glutes and I’m misreading it?)

As i understand it (sorry couldnt quickly find a good source soo take with salt grains) prog generally works better with the boof method(didnt think id type that today 😂) and there is oral doses but theyre far more ineffective. As i recall there isnt a shot you can take of prog.

(Someone please correct me if im wrong lol)

I could see that being the case I suppose. The anus is full of blood vessels, and boofing gets it straight to the blood stream instead of breaking down into metabolites in the digestive system. Just very different than any hormone therapy I’ve heard of, for like menopause and stuff. Tho that could just be that old rich white women won’t stick fingers up the bum..

Now I wonder if ftm have something similar that gets vaginally inserted (only non-oral hole with more blood vessels than the anus is the vagina!)

Thanks for the info, I feel more informed :)

Take this with a huge grain of salt again, but iirc, trans men lose some internal vaginal vascularity and gain it back in (mostly the external portion of) the clitoris, so that might become less effective the longer the HRT continues.

As i recall there isnt a shot you can take of prog

Apparently, there is, but it has some downsides...

    • Progesterone cannot be esterified like estradiol, which means it has a very short half life this way, which means daily injections (damn, and I thought every 3 days was bad 😭)
    • I saw one person's experience with injectable prog. They had levels of 150nmol/L at everyday dosing (can't remember the exact dose). I have 550nmol/L just from boofing...
    • Boofing already bypasses the liver and goes directly into the bloodstream. Prog injections do the same, but they're daily shots...why not just boof in that case?

Apparently, in my country, there is Agolutin. But, I mean, boofing is working just fine...I do NOT need more injections 😆

    Agolutin
Also seems to be 60mg/2ml in an ampule. That's just a large injection volume...
Yeah no. I'll take boofing prog

    I am so stupid...
I completely misread the first sentence of your comment and thought you wrote something like me being girly. I thought it was a compliment...
And then I read the newest comment, and was confused like "Huh? Lesbians?"

    I'm so sorryyy 😭
I make everything about myself, willingly or (this time) accidentally...I'm genuinely so dumb, sorry 😭

Omggg, thank you so much 😭

TMI: oversharing of the pastThere was a period, earlier in my transition, where I genuinely thought I didn't deserve to call myself a girl.
My (at the time) best friend was not supportive and his gf turned out to be a massive TERF. They really grilled me...and it ruined my self confidence in the beginning, but it's much better now.
It was actually the first unsupportive encounter I had, when coming out.

It was my mistake, actually. I should have expected that. Back when I was 14 and my egg cracked, I tried to come out to the most trusted person at the time...him. He got angry with me. He said some bad stuff and it scared me way back into the closet. It's a shame really. My mom would have supported me and I could have gotten blockers...
But that doesn't matter anymore, it's in the past.

He also kept making racist and bigoted jokes through elementary school and beyond under the guise of "I just like dark humor, don't police my humor". God, I should have known...it was stupid of me to trust a person like that.

Hope he's doing well, because I sure am 😄
I'm literally just a girl, with an amazing bf, surrounded by nothing but supportive people. Couldn't care less about what two stupid bigots think.

Omfg I wish. 23, Barely 3 months into estrogen... Only maybe a month into deutasteride... And well I don't exactly pass. At least YET... I think I can one day I can but am really really uncertain about now or how. I don't see "passing" as a requirement but when it FEELS possible... Well... Yknow... Hard to get my mind off of. I get those looks in my redneck-ass hometown if you get my meaning, but I still feel like I'm just passing as "gay"... I reaaaally don't know where I'm at and am... Ugh. Def somewhere between " gay" and just "emo" I think? Hard to tell alone.

Okay, tbh idk. If anyone active in this community is willing to DM and help or someone know what/where is a good place I should post, it's much appreciated - been lurking for years now - y'all are the most welcoming community ever, and have me hopeful enough I've switched my lemmy instance... Feeling like this might be opportune time?

Note: this post (comment... I'm so sorry...) probably looks a lot more spiral-ey than intended upon rereading it... Sending it as is because I still honestly have no idea how to word this better... Thanks to anyone who tolerates this, you're the best, really. Might delete soon for sake of others if I'm a total idiot... May have a bit of truth serum flowing through me rn if you catch my drift...

Edit: ......yes... "Truth serum" is alcohol. And uh... Definitely too much last night. Apologies for the vent.

Girl, slow down. You're only 3 months in. You probably get this a lot, but that's practically the beginning of your journey! Puberty takes time, even the second time around.
I don't know what you look like, but I think you have a great chance at passing. Starting at 23 is quite early.

You're not a total idiot. Please be nicer to yourself <3

Out of curiosity, I have a couple of questions that you don't need to answer, but I'll try anyway:

    1. What is your HRT regimen?
    2. Dutasteride is not a T blocker, it's a DHT blocker. Are you taking an anti-androgen or are you on monotherapy?
    3. How are the effects treating you?
    4. By "truth serum" do you mean alcohol? If so, do you drink a lot? I'm not judging, but...please don't, it's bad.
    5. Do you have a supportive person to talk to? If not, do you have Matrix, by any chance?

    Sorry for all the questions...
Wishing you the best, girlie. I believe in you 💜

AHHHH, I'm so sorry. Thank you though. As I'm aware, puberty lasts around 10 years and yeah... I'm definitely impatient about it sometimes. In all honesty I do think I have a decent chance at passing - its just that friends don't really know like... Anything about this stuff... I'm one of the only trans people they know at all, if they know any, and even if they do I'm the one they're closer to so in the one who gets fielded questions I don't always have answers to despite really wanting them if that makes sense. I really appreciate your kindness.

    1. 1.5mls SubQ weekly and one 0.5MG pill of dutasteride per night.
    2. Whatsawhawha?
    3. I've noticed very little since starting estrogen. Body mass redistribution is noticeable in my figure. I grew boobs pretty fast, but that slowed quick too and I am ultimately still pretty flat. Noticeable decrease in muscle mass. Body hair slightly thinner. The world appears visually more saturated... Can't tell if that's placebo, but it never went away and was pretty instant.
    4. Yes, truth serum is alcohol, and I don't tend to drink often but sometimes when I do I can overdo it which is a problem, yeaaah. Trying to be better any time I do, and have been successful generally. I appreciate the concern but no need to worry.
    5. Super hard to tell. Yes and no? Everyone in my life is suuuuper busy, and I usually get to talk to any one person once a week or so. Those that aren't are the sort that are supportive, kind, and willing to learn, but don't know much and so I can't really go to in any sense other than occassional vent-space. I don't like venting to people too much either, which ultimately leads to bottling up and then... Well... The occasional vent anyways... Which I like even less. I do have matrix, and would absolutely appreciate any extra support I'd you're willing to give any.

Also, don't worry about asking questions, I'm a pretty open book and you're offering support. Thank you. <3

hey i properly started HRT pretty close to my 23rd birthday! it just takes time. i didn't look visibly different at all (aside from my increasing long hair) until maybe 5 or 6 months in, and the changes i've noticed since are still coming along very slowly. of course you don't pass after 3 months; you've barely even started! give it a year and you'll be surprised by how different stuff looks.

EDIT: if you do wanna chat, feel free to msg me on lemmy or matrix (see my bio) :3

I started on my 23rd! Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, the "give it a year" thing is what I keep telling myself. Paranoia and impatience have me in an occasional spiral like the above... Sorry about that. Trying to workaround it best I can in the meantime by learning better fashion, but I gotta say I don't think everything I'm trying is working and I definitely don't have funds to throw at a wall figuring it out right now. I'm lost.

    I'd love to chat! <3

spiraling is fine, we all do it <3

and i totally get you on the fashion stuff! figuring out what looks good takes a lot of time and effort and practice, especially when you haven't ever really thought about it before. to be honest with you i've really fallen back to my old "wardrobe" (cargo shorts + whatever graphic tee is on top of the pile) the last few weeks. i don't necessarily mind, but i want to keep trying more stuff. should really swing by the thrift store and see if i can find something to get inspired again...

I am woefully ignorant and would like to know what a prog is and why it is regularly inserted in to the butt. Thank you for your time.

  • source
  • hideshow 3 child comments
  • [–] [S] 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 child)

It's progesterone, another hormone besides estradiol. There are nearly zero studies on prog and transfems, but anecdotally it helps with mood, breast growth and libido for some people.

why it is regularly inserted in to the butt

Taking it orally causes your liver to convert most of the progesterone into allopregnanolone, which makes you drunk lol.
It's a pleasant feeling but doesn't give you very high blood levels of progesterone. Boofing bypasses the liver completely.

In my experience, 400mg prog orally gave me almost undetectable levels (even tho the drunk feeling was nice 😭), but now, boofing the same amount, I have third trimester blood levels of prog. And I feel great, tbh 😆
    YMMV
