I would expect it to be a bit higher than 100° what with all the non-water stuff in there.
In international context the International System of Units must be used. So the ° is wrong it's 'K'. You have to put the cookies in a ice/salt mixture or better frozen CO2
That would be ideal but honestly I don't mind too much if someone just uses the °F or °C, i can convert it easly, it's annoying if they don't use any unit at all tho and expect me to just guess
As with everything, we know it's all the Americans' fault. Joking. Halfway, anyway - they are a majority of the people who, internationally speaking, wanted to be all precious about this stuff. Although even if they didn't, it'd still seem like "good practice" to include units anyway, though.
The cooking does tend to just be context, though, or at least "same as all the other recipes". There's only so many sane temps to pick for any given thing, and there's a factor of ~2 between the two choices. E.g. if you were baking, 210° is either pretty hot or way too cool for most things.
An unspoken rule of the Internet: If a post doesn't specify country, units, server, or time zone, and that information is relevant, then it was written by someone who is unaware of those things. You know, Americans.
I get what you're saying, but a realistic temperature for cooking only makes sense if you're familiar with cooking. I'm sure there was someone who was wondering why their cookies weren't cooking at 175° F or utterly annihilated them at 350° C. It's just a couple extra characters, anyway.
Sure. As I said, it makes sense to just... not be ambiguous. As for familiarity, I don't think you really need it? You'll have an inkling of where the recipe came from and be 90% sure most of the time. If not, searching for one more recipe means it's suddenly really unlikely to still be unclear. No matter what you want you could search for non-US units to rule out/convert.
Familiarity would mean it's even easier, you'll go "of course this is baked at around 175°C like virtually all the other things like it" and almost certainly be right. Although baking is notoriously finicky...

Can I hijack this to complain about small town newspapers that don't specify the state? There are 88 cities, states, counties, or districts named "Washington". Is it so hard to clear up which one youre talking about?
I work in metric as an American, my industry is probably the only one that works in metric world wide. Temp is mixed

My last project in aerospace with 100's of people was mostly Imperial. There is a lot of mixing of units and you can basically design your subsystem however you want. There was a mandate decades ago to go metric, but that has largely been ignored. It's the worst of both worlds!
My current project is just a couple people, so I mandated all metric. I have to spend a lot of money on tooling, but it is largely fine. I would say 10 years ago getting some fancy aerospace grade fasteners was easier in Imperial, less so today.
My mind still defaults to Imperial for very small dimensions like a 8 thou gap or something.
Didn’t that happen because of the Mars Climate Observer crashing? Caused by a us team using pounds-force-seconds where nasa expected newton-seconds (sending it hurtling towards mars at a too-low dip into the atmosphere)

Especially since certain chemical reactions only begin to happen at the low side of that. For example the Maillard reaction enhances the flavor of sugars and such; or double acting baking powder (as well as greatly accelerating the reaction of single acting powder, soda or cream of tartar.)
Low temp ovens would just dry out that cookie or biscuit into dog treats.

Well, i am not a chemist, i just know a handful of stuff that i can use in everyday life, eg: using hydrogen peroxide to remove blood stained on clothing
