This article smells of AI slop, but I'd seen an earlier article on CBC already, so whatever.
At least a review will happen to hopefully prevent this miscarriage of justice from happening again. Comparing the US system to Canada's, the innocent victim might get compensated in some monetary way, but in return they won't be allowed to talk about it, no party will admit they did anything wrong and a similar incident may easily happen again.

This is a new feature of the justice system I haven't seen before. Wouldn't this amount to CCP-style censorship?
Settlements and NDAs seem to be a lot more commonplace in the USA based on reports. Surely because money is involved, that makes it voluntary, right?
And while yes, settlements usually don't prevent people to write a book or whatever, but you are silenced in the sense you are prevented from pursuing any further justice in the legal system for any potential future victims caught by the same mishap.
