I say not less cars, but no cars. We need to move towards societies where we arent dependent on the asphalt industry.
We need to learn how to live slow again.
zero carz🦔
No cars is a bit too idealistic, but agree on ending the general dependency on them. Cars is not just speed, but also access. And car infractructure is the same as for buses, emergency vehicles, taxis etc. And I don't think we should necessarily end those.
But yeah, I still chant for "no cars" as the idealistic general goal.
but we dont need cars. just because we are dependent on them today, doesnt mean we are depent on them in the future. Dont let todays lets dictate our future lets.
Im curious what people here would take to work. A 20 minute drive or an hour bike ride. Buses don't exist near me nor will they. What are my options. It's too hot, the weather is unpredictable, and im not spending an hour one way to work.
If you say there will never be buses near you, I presume you don't live in a city. If you did, I don't see why the city creating a bus line there wouldn't be possible.
For folks commuting from outside the city to inside, the best is a big car park outside the city next to a commuter train station. Make it frequent and reliable.

Provide better public options. It takes me 25 minutes to get to work by car and 75 minutes by public. Fuck that.
It's both
we also need fewer people
we know its you bro 😭😭😭
