Interesting article from 2018. But nothing has changed at all. Even the electric cars I see on the road are huge.

Unless they're really small, like kei cars in Japan, and have different infrastructure to match, it doesn't do much good. They still take up the same amount of space in traffic because that's dominated by following distance rather than vehicle length, and they still take up the same amount of space at rest because all parking spaces are the same size.

    you do realize there are other factors than just the physical size they occupy, right? Smaller cars means they're lighter (less wear on roads, less fuel usage, less damage when they hit things) and have better visibility.
