I would complete this with an adage inspired by Paulo Freire: when throwing off the oppression, we have to be careful not to become oppressors ourselves.

No, in fact we must become the oppressors ourselves. The question is who we oppress. Oppressing the exploiters and their agents is in fact necessary, as Lenin points out in this very quote.

I disagree passionately. When he is talking about "standing up to the exploiters of the world" he means different. Resistance is not equal to oppression.
