    There was for the powerful people elected to represent us.

    However, they chose the lucrative (to themselves rather than the vast majority of people they're SUPPOSED to represent) option over justice and shared prosperity 😮‍💨🤬

    I think democracy is a step toward something better. But it's ultimately flawed. It's individualistic in nature, and always trends toward a capitalist system.

    I won't claim here to have found a perfect system either.
