There was for the powerful people elected to represent us.

However, they chose the lucrative (to themselves rather than the vast majority of people they're SUPPOSED to represent) option over justice and shared prosperity 😮‍💨🤬

I think democracy is a step toward something better. But it's ultimately flawed. It's individualistic in nature, and always trends toward a capitalist system.

I won't claim here to have found a perfect system either.

I believe democracy works better the more people are educated and obviously if everyone participates with the intent of preserving democracy. Unfortunately both are actively being prevented.

Why would it matter if you did find a perfect system? Without democracy, you're opinion on governance would be mute. It is impossible to simultaneously give up your political voice and create a better system.
