Destin is basically CIA propaganda. There's lots to learn but if he gets anywhere near anything political it is "follow exactly lockstep the US policy". So without watching this video I have to imagine it is completely bullshit
Skip to 34:05 for him trying to explain enshittification with profit/quality/exploitation with a fun physical model.
It's definitely super over-simplistic and ignores so much.
I did watch the last video in this series and yeah he made some good points about the US/west losing manufacturing knowledge and capability, but with a huge dash of "China bad" to the point that when he decided he had no choice but to import a part he deliberately ordered from India even though it was mostly only available in China (because India is more okay than China for some reason?), then it turned out the Indian company just dropped shipped it from a Chinese manufacturer LMAO
That’s Alabama brain worms for you. All things through god

He also spent 15 years working as a missile flight test engineer at Redstone Arsenal
I used to kind of like that channel, but goddamn has it gone downhill
He's trying a more explicitly sinophobic thumbnail too, very revealing as to the ideological content:

The whole premise of the video series is "I'm trying to manufacture a BBQ scrubber in the US with US-made parts because I'm a big time patriot and local jobs and self-reliance, we can't have everything come from China". He throws this thesis out of the window when he tries to import some of the components from India and then discards them because they're actually from China and just repackaged in India. He's overtly showing that his actual aim is not local manufacturing, it's just avoiding China, as he wouldn't have an issue using Canadian or Indian manufacturers. Just anticommunist propaganda disguised as self-reliance.
I found a YouTube link in your post. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Breadtube if it didn't suck.
Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.
Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.
There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.
A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
