I have this switch at home, but I'm afraid I'll break something if I try it.

Does the Katana take a 1/4" TRS connector? If so it'll be fine. I bought a Skinny Little Thing dual latching foot switch for my Peavey Classic and it works a charm

Yes it does, I guess I'll try it when I get home

If its a latching switch (not momentary) and uses a single TRS (3-conductor) cable, it should work. I bought a generic one that looks very similar.

So, did a bit of looking, and looks like fender uses a different circuit layout to the katana. Almost certainly would not hurt anything, but probably will not work. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/making-a-fender-2-button-footswitch.2190871/
