Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

I tried to enhance some clips to 60fps but it's just so damn slow. A 2 minutes clip takes about 15 minutes. A whole movie would take over half a day.

If your family member's who leave their TV's frame interpolation setting enabled are the bad guys, this OP is the boss fight.

This method would be better quality

Then you're doing it wrong or have very low powered hardware. I used SVP to interpolate 24/30fps to 60fps in realtime years ago. Both CPU and GPU based. Looks great.

On top of that, downloads would be unnecessary big unless the source material was 60fps - like twice as big at least.

Movies will look terrible with higher frame rates

Yeah we should go the other way and decrease the frame rate to 1 frame per second 🙄
