The most common form of same-sex relationships between elite males in Greece was paiderastia[9] (pederasty). It was a relationship between an older male and an adolescent youth. A boy was considered a "boy" until he was able to grow a full beard. The older man was called erastes. He was to educate, protect, love, and provide a role model for his eromenos, whose reward for him lay in his beauty, youth, and promise.

Is this the reason, Pete?

*warfighters

I make this correction not to support his term, but to mock it.

It's the most cringetastic newspeak of the entire Trump kakistocracy IMO and that's fucking SAYING something!

If you're attributing "war fighters" to this administration, then you're mistaken. Maybe they imported it or something, I don't know, but I know for a fact that the British armed forces have been using the word for a long time. I suspect other NATO and/or commonwealth countries do as well.

It's supposed to be a generic word which doesn't imply gender or which service they're in, or precisely what they do, just generally being a label for everyone involved in carrying out war.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't go with something gendered and even stupider like 'war men'
