Context: princess Andromeda of the perseus myth was from Aethiopia, while it doesn't exactly map to modern Ethiopia, it does literally mean burnt (black) face. So yeah Andromeda was black, despite what most modern western depictions would have you believe.

WHITE = GOOD

NOT WHITE = NOT GOOD

I recently watched The Boy Who Harassed the Wind. It was unexpectedly refreshing to watch a movie without any white people in it. Western media is typically made with whiteness in mind: either white people are the main characters or there has to be some white self-insert character to convey how the story of POC relates to whiteness.

From the expectation of white people being the default, the red hat in this post isn't so contradictory. And I'm sure a lot of people think this way.

I never associate this myth with Ethiopia lul. Now I see why Andromeda is a gyaru in Fate GO(the closets to black people Japanese creators can illustrate while not been racists as fuck)

Guess they’ll have to change the saying to “ Go woke, Go $120 million domestic box office”

I mean, we can think both are inaccurate and that it also doesn't really matter, right?

I know the picture of Helen is from Nolan's Odyssey, but What's the pic of Andromeda from?

Clash of the titans, 2010 . Was the only version of perseus I could think of.

Zeus was black, so obviously his daughters are black. How can you argue about accuracy with that?
