Is this guy advocating for writing HTML by hand and pushing it to an FTP server like its 199X?
I understand wanting to own your own content, but my friend, there are better ways!
At least it would make for a good learning experience!
Also, the closer you get to the very basics, the more control you have over your stack.
Can't you buy a domain and port forward an old laptop for that? That's what I would call 100% independently.
