This is what I have & it’s perfect.
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
A lot of movies are supposed to have grain as some directors like to add it in, some have more than others, there’s whole threads dedicated to the this in other Reddit groups.
Thank you. Considering the C2 doesn’t have the best upscaling like the C3 would Apple TV device help with that? I also just heard about nividea sheild pro to and I’m not sure if I can use that without a PC but I heard it upscales low quality content really good
I wouldn’t necessarily apply that logic to the Apple TV box though as the apps on there are still designed by each individual streaming service, although Apple does tighten the range they can play within.
I had an LG CS along with an Apple TV.
Most tech reviews tend to agree that the Apple TV is one of the best devices for streaming quality. I find it much better than a fire stick, Chromecast or Roku as a UI. I’ve bought them all and in hindsight wish is just paid the extra for the Apple TV first time round.
Are you seeing grain? Or are you seeing noise?
Highly doubt it will make a difference.
C2 is a relatively new oled model and the processors in the LG oleds are robust. You should be able to stream 4k on Disney or Netflix with zero issues.
I have a LG C9 which is from 2019. It plays 4k steaming just fine (wired or wireless). I have an Apple TV 2022 connected to it and the streaming quality is the same time to me. The main reason I bought the Apple TV is for a home hub for HomeKit.
I would check your internet and local network speed. A simple test to test local is to disconnect the wired Ethernet and connect wifi.
I’ve done that before and determined the wired connection is better. Tho my xfinity app says there’s a wired connection and a wireless connection to my tv which makes no sense to me
You won’t regret to buy your ATV, try to connect it through its LAN port and change default’s DNS.
I have an LG C1 OLED TV and use Apple TV device with it. Picture is great. I've never used any of the apps that are with the "smart" part of the TV, so can't compare to that. I've always used an external device for streaming with every TV.
