I am a bit envious of people who perceive the gym as a hobby. For me it is more like brushing teeth: Not fun in any way, but I do it anyway because I don't want to deal with the consequences of not doing it.
Fellow "want my body to keep working" gym-goer.
It's the worst.
And the worst part of it is the people for whom the gym IS a hobby.
Why's that the worst part?
Just genuinely curious as i do fall under the group for who gym and training in general is an actually enjoyable hobby. Of course i do understand that not everyone gets the same enjoyment out if it as we're all wired slightly differently, but why's that bad.
It's not, you keep doing you and enjoy yourself. This is like a non-morning person complaining about someone who is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed from the moment they wake up onwards. The morning person didn't do anything wrong, and they don't owe their more groggy counterpart anything. Still, that probably won't stop the sleepyhead from grousing about it if they have to interact while their energies are mismatched.

Have you tried other sports? After going through 10+ different sports, I finally landed on something I like. This makes it way easier to get your exercise in
I have tried some and I do like bouldering. Unfortunately that does not cover all relevant muscle groups.
They’re sweating because they’re at the gym.
But really, the gym’s a fine hobby. No hate for our respectable body maintenance aficionados
PC gaming, PC building though thats rare due the insane prices, mini painting once in blue moon, but overall after work, chores, family, training, sleep, there isn't much time left over for additional hobbies.
Though, honest question. How many hobbies is a person supposed to have as we all have a rather limited amount of time left over after activities supporting basic survival and comforts?
If you like the gym you should get into cooking. Nothing tastes so good as a post workout meal you made yourself

I mostly consume stuff. Food, movies, video games, music.
I don’t suppose maladaptive daydreaming counts as a hobby
Take a break from the gym and go to the dojo instead.
My other hobbies besides the gym are tanning and laundry.
