"Trump Livid" is a phrase I want to hear more and more in coming months... Keep praying for the little blood-clot that could..

Sounds too much like "Trump lives" or "Trump living"

Nah, he's gotta live long enough to be impeached, removed, and imprisoned. Gotta live ling enough to rot in jail and watch his empire crumble into nothingness. Gotta live long enough to see every instance of his name removed, his children jailed and broke, his legacy ash.

...then he can die.

[-] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

We’d have to purge all the traitors and Neo confederates who work with him too, since we didn’t after the civil war.

The orange man in

A reverse image search confirms that they were singing "The Wheels on the Bus" to a group of children. Most likely the part about the babies on the bus going wah, wah, wah.

[-] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

It's insane how attractive Mamdani is

[-] homes@piefed.world 8 points 1 month ago

He’s a cutie

[-] artyom@piefed.social 78 points 1 month ago

Trump later wrote on Truth Social that the crowd had been “packed to the brim” with “at least 45,000 people.”

The fact that anyone believes such an obvious pathological liar continues to shock me to my core.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 78 points 1 month ago

I used to think Orwell was being a bit hyperbolic about the party holding up 4 fingers and demanding people seeing 5.

But Republicans and conservatives do this without even being tortured.

[-] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 34 points 1 month ago

It’s a purity test, you either parrot the party line or you’re not part of the party.

[-] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 month ago

Yeah. I hadn't read the book since my early twenties and decided now (at 50) I wanted to take another read through because of all the crap going on, and it's honestly terrifying how press releases and especially Karoline Leavitt sounds straight up newspeak and rewriting the narrative whenever possible.

It's only a matter of time before they get a department going whose sole job is to go back into historical documents to re-write old news articles to show that they've always been right.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

They are effectively already doing that by tearing down installations at parks that are insufficiently grateful for slavery.

[-] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

It makes me nauseaus to read about all of it, and I'm not even American.

[-] SaraTonin@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Hitler called it “the Big Lie”, with the idea being that you tell a lie that’s so outrageous that people will find it easier to believe the lie than that you’d have the audacity to tell a lie that outrageous

Ask yourself this simple question, “DO YOU THINK THAT OBUMA OR SLEEPY JOE BIDEN COULD HAVE DONE IT?” THE ANSWER IS NO!:

lol if either one did something similar (to the event's original plans--a party to celebrate 250), it'd be jam-packed capacity crowds, and ~~thousands~~ hundreds of thousands more converging on d.c. and a-list stars would be lining up to take part.

[-] artyom@piefed.social 18 points 1 month ago

He's really sticking with "sleepy Joe" after he's been caught sleeping on camera 4 or 5 times now? Just absolutely zero self-awareness.

[-] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

He's been caught sleeping 4-5 months

Biden would have let the original plan go through with the Smithsonian in charge instead. It's fucked up because Trump needed to grift and you only get Fyre Festivals from the level of grift he requires.

[-] Blibly@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

DO YOU THINK OBAMNA OR JOE BYRON WOULD BE THIS PATHETIC AND TRASHY? THE ANSWER IS NO!

I wish more cameramen would pan around at some of his "rallies".

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Yeah, they always seem to be quite tight shots, no?

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

LOL, u mad bro?

[-] KazuyaDarklight@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

Hilariously, I think the article pic is the most populated picture of the event that I've seen so far.

[-] Bob_Robertson_IX@discuss.tchncs.de 23 points 1 month ago

I hear it's because George Soros is paying people not to come

[-] nightwatch_admin@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago

Can you share his number because I’m also not coming and I could use the financial support

[-] TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 11 points 1 month ago

I mean if he wanted big crowds he would actually have to pull a George soros. It's not like DC is his target demographic, and the majority of his constituents that would be interested in attending any kind of event open to the public are not exactly the most affluent people in the world.

The only way he'd get a ton of people showing up for a fair in DC is if he paid for busses. That's kind of why jan 6 stands out soo much, it takes a lot of coordination to get that much white trash to the capital.

[-] Chef@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

They're going to simultaneously blame it on the heat and say it was packed to the brim. MAGA will accept the excuse no matter what.

Who do they trust? Their lying eyes, or Trump?

[-] sepi@piefed.social 18 points 1 month ago
[-] Sumocat@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

Crowd size assumes a crowd. His “State” fair in a city that is not a State is lightly attended, and it’s less attended than that space normally is on a summer day.

[-] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 8 points 1 month ago

Seems like a dick move to host a state fair in DC, whose residents have fewer rights because we refuse to allow them statehood

[-] Malyca@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 month ago

I hope he sees the pictures of Obama's library opening compared to this

[-] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

Sucks to suck, bitch.

[-] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

What crowd?

There's nothing to do there but listen to shit music and the orange windbag winge some more.

[-] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Crowd is so small Donny may have to cancel the planned assassination.

[-] ContactClosure@lemmus.org 11 points 1 month ago

Not livid enough, apparently.

[-] Insekticus@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Hopefully deadid sooner rather than later, though.

[-] obvs@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Enjoy your 105ºF heat and your two hour speech starting at 9:00 at night.

Sounds like a great idea for your 80-year-old ass.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Small package, small hands, and small crowds. Why so small?

[-] zebidiah@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago

hey, who remembers the crowds at the inauguration...?? remember how well that went over??
