He's a great player but it's just such a hard position to fit him into. He's been good at arsenal but they obviously need a 9 (personally think they should try trossard more) but it's becoming obvious why City sold him. He's too good not to play but he also is hard to fit into a system unless you have two very good inside forwards (I'm talking Salah and mane sort of levels)

Great thing to say as a forward

Well feckin work on it then

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

LMFAO, imagine the N9 for Brazil saying this, just fuck my shit up im fucked up

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I mean if you played in a system that actually utilized him well with guys like vini and now Martinelli plus others you guys would be walking goals into the back of the net but your defense and midfield also need to step up

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I grew up watching R9 bulldozing elite clubs and national teams with ease and putting up insane numbers despite suffering potentially career-ending injuries, it's actually sad to see the state of Brazilian strikers in recent years.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

But if you ask Arsenal fans he is the next Messi / Ronaldo 🤷‍♀️

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

have a bit of self confidence my man

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (4 children)

Kind of true though, was the same when he was at City too.

He's a false nine and scoring goals isn't the most important aspect of that role, much like Firmino at Liverpool.

That being said, he does need to turn up with a few more goals if he's going to stand a chance in this Brazil side, especially since Richarlison is injured.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Firmino had a stint where he was scoring a good number of goals for Liverpool

As if Arteta needed any more reason be on the phone to Ivan Toney in January

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

lmao imagine your star striker saying this

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I’ve said it since arsenal signed him, he’s not the player they need in the position he wants to player

Arsenal should go all out for toney in Jan, he’s a difference make for arsenal (hopefully they fail in Their pursuit)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He would ghost for months at City too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Why does he turn into R9 against us then ffs

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Cuz r/fuckyouinparticular

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

"I am so shit" - ~~Tammy Abraham~~ Gabriel Jesus

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

With that said, he wasn’t bad yesterday, helped created some good chances. Yeah, I would love to have a goal machine, but since we don’t have one, I rather play Jesus than Richarlison.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

We look so good when he’s our striker. He doesn’t need to score goals. He allows the team to build through the middle and maintain possession - which is huge for the style of play Arteta wants.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Tbf it's because he's world class at pretty much everything else. Just his finishing lets him down.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He has 24 Goal+ Assist from 24 Starts Last Season

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

When he came to us that pre season he was on fire and scored a lot. Am I remembering that correctly ?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I can’t believe City had Sterling and Jesus as forwards together.

Probably Brazil's biggest downgrade in recent times is the #9 position. They went from R9, Romario, Adriano to Fred, Richarlison and Jesus. What a fall from grace

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Pep saw that and put him on the right wing then shipped him out because he wasn't happy playing there. nothing new.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

#9 = scoring isn't my strong suit #1 = I can't concentrate

Wtf is going on at Arsenal 😅

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He has 24 Goal+ Assist from 24 Starts Last Season

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Not doing himself any favors stating something like this.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Always said it, Gabriel Jesus is not a top club striker. He had his peak with City and Arsenal caught holding the bag, as usual.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Crazy how much richarlison is slandered when he dosent score a goal..even after single handidly winning a game in the world cup..yet jesus is one of the biggest brazil dissapointments of all time and nobody bats an eye

The thing with Jesus is if he had average finishing he’d be the best striker in the world.

He’s world class at literally everything else a false 9 does.

Anyone who thinks Arsenal is better off without him than with him obviously doesn’t watch us. It’s not a coincidence he has been hurt all year and we’ve struggled in the attack.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He was great at riding De Paul dong all game long though

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

The true false 9

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

trust me Gabe, we all know.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I always knew he was shit, even at city who creates 100 opportunities this guy would miss all 100. Arsenal lost the league last year because this clown couldn’t score anything, miss after miss after miss

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Wout Weghorst enters the chat

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

As I've been saying for some time, we need to buy a proper goal-scoring striker.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Thank you Gabriel Jesus, we noticed. What I don't notice is the strong point of anyone playing in this team. What a freaking mess. We had Guimarães as a playmaker, Rodrygo playing in Neymar's role, Jesus doing God knows what, Veiga as a right winger crossing balls to Endrick, which is like the height of Romário.

No one is actually playing their real role and we are a discombobulated atrocity on the pitch. We managed one shot on target after going down 1-0. Ridiculous.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He was happy to let everyone know how many matches in a row Brazil has lost at the Maracana to Argentina though.

You'd think after the last World Cup exit they might start internalizing some humility.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Least important part of being a striker to be honest.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Just let Endrick start, Jesus is good, but it's not needed as he does the same as everyone else on the Brazil squad (Vini, Rodrygo, Martineli, Rafinha).

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Just let the 17-year-old who hasn't played a minute outside of the Brazilian league start? You underestimate the level required.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Arsenal players need to talk to PR guys before talking to media.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He hadn't even played in a month and wasn't fully fit and Diniz said he wanted to bring him to Brazil to "assess" him and "train with the team" and he plays a full 90 last night. We saw it coming a mile away too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Idgaf, cause when he’s on with us, the team’s on a different level. None other like him.

I believe in Jesus, the Arsenal number 9.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He's not that kind of striker

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Selfish or selfless, there is no try

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

He's one of those players at club level that will score a flurry of goals in a few games in a row and then not score for ages, but most of the time he is at least making contributions on the field in other ways

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

We've been saying this for like 4 years now but no one seemed to listen lol
