We have recently moved house to a very rural part of the UK which luckily has Gigaclear - which comes supplied with two Linksys Atlas 6 (MX5500) tower routers. Near to the main router upload and download speeds are very quick- up to 500mps (okay not that near gigabit but faster than we need), and the latency is okay but not that amazing, frequently over 50ms - which is similar to what we were getting with our old, very slow 30mbps up/download wifi - and anywhere else in the house it is quite bad, above 200-300ms and have noticed web pages load very slowly (again, slower than our old ‘very slow’ wifi!) - we also get terrible ‘buffer bloat’ where when loaded the latency is horrendous- doubling or tripling! Making things like gaming pretty impossible and worse than the old wifi…

I don’t really know much about this stuff but want to do something about it, where might the problem lie? I know linksys is unpopular, but it was free with the contract so I’m happy to sell them if needed but want a good alternative that will reach everywhere in the small cottage (with very very thick walls) that isn’t going to break the bank… was looking at other linksys more premium products but reading the reviews I guess I should go for another brand?

If you can run ethernet cable somewhere in the middle of your house then I recently setup Zyxel at onr of our large Care home which was having very bad signals with BT router.

This AP comes with alot of goodies specially the web portal, you can have multiple SSIDs with SSID schedule which is good if you have kids etc.

Thanks
