Some of us might be familiar with the arguments surrounding Direct Action and Class Struggle (*see URL attached for reference). But do we ever discuss the pertinent intersections of Direct Action and Academic Discussion/Theory? I'm new to the space, but would love to hear from some comrades how they discuss theory and/or take direct action, and which plays a heavy role as mechanism(s) in their personal lives. No wrong answers in the least, of course. Just want to get to know how folks on here engage and create advocacy/effect change in their communities.

I don’t know if I’m answering your question the way you want (I didn’t 100% understand the way you said it, no disrespect whatsoever intended) but whenever I read Mao’s little Red Book I take portions of it into my life. I used to say to people “I can flip to any page and have it relate to my personal life” and then I did it a few times and it was a passage completely unrelated to regular every-day scenarios lol. But that being said, if you read like 10-12 pages (of a very small book lol) you’ll probably find something that resonates with you in some way in a broad sense

Good practice! I like. You couldn't really answer it wrong if you answered my friend. lol. I have a passion for the movement regardless of reading material. But I love learning where listening to others tell me where I should be paying attention.

Besides Mao, I would also give a major shoutout to Che Guevara, his Motorcycle Diaries are such an inspiration, so full of adventure. As cringe as it sounds, I’d call it the Odyssey of the 20th century. But it isn’t nearly as long as Homer’s Odyssey
